Abstract

The rapid evolution of cyber threats has increased the need for intelligent, proactive, and adaptive cybersecurity strategies capable of identifying risks before they develop into significant security incidents. Traditional security approaches often depend on predefined rules, historical attack signatures, and reactive incident management, which may be insufficient for detecting previously unseen attacks, sophisticated intrusion techniques, and rapidly changing adversarial behavior. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) provide advanced analytical capabilities for examining large volumes of security data, recognizing complex behavioral patterns, predicting potential vulnerabilities, and prioritizing threats according to their likelihood and potential impact. This paper examines how AI-driven predictive analytics can support the management of evolving cyber risks within the broader framework of artificial intelligence and machine learning for advanced data analytics. It discusses predictive modeling techniques, security data integration, anomaly detection, threat forecasting, automated risk assessment, explainable AI, and operational challenges. A proposed experimental framework is presented to evaluate predictive performance, detection quality, computational efficiency, and the practical value of risk prioritization. Illustrative results are used to demonstrate how predictive analytics could improve early threat identification and reduce false alerts; these figures are hypothetical and are not presented as measurements from an actual experiment. The analysis highlights that predictive cybersecurity depends not only on model accuracy but also on data quality, continuous monitoring, human oversight, responsible automation, and the ability to adapt to changing attack patterns. The paper concludes that AI-driven predictive analytics can strengthen cyber resilience when integrated into a comprehensive security governance and incident response framework.
