Abstract

The increasing digitalization of financial operations has accelerated the adoption of advanced technologies aimed at improving the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of accounting systems. Among these technologies, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has emerged as a transformative solution for automating repetitive financial tasks, enhancing audit procedures, and strengthening internal control mechanisms within modern organizations. This study examines the role of RPA in improving accounting processes and supporting more effective auditing practices through intelligent automation and data-driven operational management. The paper explores how RPA technologies contribute to faster transaction processing, automated compliance verification, continuous auditing, error reduction, and improved monitoring of financial activities. It further analyzes the impact of RPA on internal control frameworks by enabling real-time data validation, enhanced transparency, fraud detection, and standardized execution of accounting procedures. In addition, the research discusses major challenges associated with RPA implementation, including integration complexity, cybersecurity risks, regulatory compliance concerns, workforce adaptation, and governance requirements. The study also highlights the evolving implications of RPA adoption for the accounting profession, particularly in reshaping the roles of auditors and financial professionals toward analytical and strategic responsibilities.
