Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as one of the most significant global public health threats, particularly within healthcare settings where the extensive use of antimicrobial agents, invasive procedures, and vulnerable patient populations create favorable conditions for the emergence and spread of resistant microorganisms. Healthcare-associated infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms contribute substantially to patient morbidity, mortality, prolonged hospitalization, and increased healthcare expenditures. This research paper provides a comprehensive analysis of antimicrobial resistance in healthcare environments by examining its epidemiology, biological mechanisms, major risk factors, clinical implications, and current infection prevention strategies. The study also presents a simulated multicenter observational experiment conducted across tertiary healthcare institutions to evaluate the effectiveness of antimicrobial stewardship interventions and enhanced infection control protocols. Experimental findings demonstrate that integrating artificial intelligence-assisted surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship programs, rapid molecular diagnostics, and strict infection prevention measures significantly reduces antimicrobial misuse, hospital-acquired infections, and multidrug-resistant bacterial transmission.
