The Journal of Dental Research and Innovation (JDRI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. Originality is a fundamental requirement for all manuscripts submitted to the journal. Authors are expected to submit work that is entirely original and properly acknowledge the contributions of others through accurate citation and referencing.

Originality Requirement

All manuscripts submitted to JDRI must:

Plagiarism Screening

Every submitted manuscript is screened using reputable plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. If significant textual overlap or ethical concerns are identified, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification, revision, or rejected outright, depending on the severity of the issue.

Forms of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following practices to be unethical and unacceptable:

  • Direct copying of text without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing another author's work without appropriate acknowledgment.
  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication.
  • Duplicate submission to multiple journals.
  • Fabrication or falsification of research data.
  • Improper attribution of figures, tables, or illustrations.
  • Misrepresentation of authorship or research contributions.

Editorial Actions

If plagiarism is detected, the Editorial Office will take appropriate action based on the extent and nature of the misconduct. Actions may include:

  • Requesting revisions or explanations from the authors.
  • Rejecting the manuscript prior to publication.
  • Retracting a published article when necessary.
  • Informing the authors' affiliated institution or funding agency in cases of serious research misconduct.
  • Restricting future submissions from authors found to have engaged in unethical publishing practices.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Ensure that all submitted work is original.
  • Properly cite all sources and referenced materials.
  • Obtain permission to reproduce copyrighted content when required.
  • Accurately acknowledge the contributions of all co-authors and collaborators.
  • Disclose any previous publication or related submissions.
